We got to the town at about midday. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mikeeasley.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/wpid-20140614_115932.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"20140614_115932.jpg\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" alt=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/mikeeasley.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/wpid-20140614_115932.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There were some storms earlier this week which did some damage to the railways, so to get to Soest, our destination, we have to make a grand tour of Westphalia.&nbsp; We stopped at a small town called Unna and had a traditional German lunch of Schnitzel &#038; chips.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mikeeasley.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/wpid-20140614_134714.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"20140614_134714.jpg\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" alt=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/mikeeasley.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/wpid-20140614_134714.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Arrived at our hotel.<br \/>\nMe (in Sunday Best German). &#8216;Hello, my name&#8217;s Mike Easley and I have a reservation.&#8217;<br \/>\nReceptionist. &#8216;Never mind that, how about a beer.&#8217;<br \/>\nA pretty good start I thought.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Caught the train yesterday evening to Birmingham airport.
