We sail over to the boatyard at Aktio and tie up.<br \/>\nA huge tractor and a hydraulic trailer appear, and from here we&#8217;re no longer in charge. A gang of men manoeuvre the boat on to the trailer and very slowly she is lifted from the water. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mikeeasley.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/wpid-2015-10-13-14.24.35.jpg.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"2015-10-13 14.24.35.jpg\" class=\"alignnone size-full\"  alt=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/mikeeasley.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/wpid-2015-10-13-14.24.35.jpg.jpeg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A few minutes later she&#8217;s high and dry on the trailer and on her way to her winter berth. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mikeeasley.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/wpid-2015-10-13-14.14.46.jpg.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"2015-10-13 14.14.46.jpg\" class=\"alignnone size-full\"  alt=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/mikeeasley.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/wpid-2015-10-13-14.14.46.jpg.jpeg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Once she&#8217;s secure we climb a ladder to get on board and do the last of our laying-up chores. After a last check we lock her up and jump in a taxi back to Preveza.<br \/>\nHaul-out day is often very hard work according to other yachties that we&#8217;ve spoken to, but thanks to a lot of help from Paul and Hayley with the preparation it&#8217;s not too bad for us. We enjoy a beer in town to celebrate. When you buy beer in Preveza you get snacks of cheese and ham.
