After yesterday&#8217;s combination race, today we have the blue ribbon event &#8211; the downhill race on the Lauberhorn.<br \/>\nWe start with another airshow. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mikeeasley.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/wpid-2016-01-16-12.40.55.jpg.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"2016-01-16 12.40.55.jpg\" class=\"alignnone size-full\"  alt=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/mikeeasley.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/wpid-2016-01-16-12.40.55.jpg.jpeg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Airbus A321 at the head of the formation was named &#8216;Wengen&#8217; in a ceremony this morning. <\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the stadium. It&#8217;s at a hamlet called Innerwengen which is a little lower than Wengen. Most of what you can see will be removed after the races.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mikeeasley.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/wpid-2016-01-16-13.46.42.jpg.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"2016-01-16 13.46.42.jpg\" class=\"alignnone size-full\"  alt=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/mikeeasley.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/wpid-2016-01-16-13.46.42.jpg.jpeg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Wengen looking lovely in the morning sun.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mikeeasley.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/wpid-2016-01-16-13.47.58.jpg.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"2016-01-16 13.47.58.jpg\" class=\"alignnone size-full\"  alt=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/mikeeasley.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/wpid-2016-01-16-13.47.58.jpg.jpeg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And it doesn&#8217;t really matter whether you care about the skiing; you&#8217;ll never have a nicer walk to a major sporting event. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mikeeasley.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/wpid-2016-01-16-13.48.54.jpg.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"2016-01-16 13.48.54.jpg\" class=\"alignnone size-full\"  alt=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/mikeeasley.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/wpid-2016-01-16-13.48.54.jpg.jpeg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And we have a winner. Axel Svindal from Norway. Having skied from the Lauberhorn to Innerwengen in less than 2 minutes, how do our superstars get back to Wengen? Well, if you finish in the top 3, a helicopter will give you a lift.
