We head up to Mannlichen. Never thought to look up! These guys passed a few feet above us.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mikeeasley.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/wpid-wp-image-1201111092jpg.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mikeeasley.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/wpid-wp-image-1201111092jpg.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3271 alignnone size-full\" width=\"1999\" height=\"1126\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As we begin to lose height the flora becomes more diverse. Edelweiss like the sunny spots amongst the heather.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mikeeasley.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/wpid-wp-image-244538999jpg.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mikeeasley.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/wpid-wp-image-244538999jpg.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3272 alignnone size-full\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1546\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Beautiful day for a walk. Here we are above the Gummi slopes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mikeeasley.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/wpid-wp-image-1513326416jpg.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mikeeasley.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/wpid-wp-image-1513326416jpg.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3273 alignnone size-full\" width=\"1999\" height=\"1125\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Eventually we arrive at Arven just below Scheidegg. This is the hub of the ski area in winter. Looking up to Scheidegg.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mikeeasley.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/wpid-wp-image-496597962jpg.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mikeeasley.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/wpid-wp-image-496597962jpg.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3274 alignnone size-full\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1126\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ski lifts are a blot on the landscape for most of the year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mikeeasley.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/wpid-wp-image-1628752630jpg.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mikeeasley.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/wpid-wp-image-1628752630jpg.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3275 alignnone size-full\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1126\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We fill our bottles from a trough and continue downhill. The rough terrain gives way to pastures.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mikeeasley.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/wpid-wp-image-1615324851jpg.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mikeeasley.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/wpid-wp-image-1615324851jpg.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3276 alignnone size-full\" width=\"1999\" height=\"1498\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Eiger dominates the lower parts of the walk.
