We popped down to Interlaken to see the turning on of the lights in the big square by the station. There was a band of drummers, some children singing, and the dignitaries arrived by horse and carriage. Quaint though this was, the darkness meant it was impossible to get any photos.<\/p>\n<p>After the obligatory speeches there was a countdown and finally the lights were on.
