We&#8217;re heading for the Three Tells pub in Matten. But just how Irish is it? There&#8217;s Guinness on sale, and folky Irish music in the background, but the girl who serves us is from Chester and her colleague is German. On the TV is a ski race from Austria. I order an Irish breakfast for my lunch, and Val has something called a Sloppy Joe.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6108\" src=\"https:\/\/mikeeasley.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/20190303_150803.jpg\" width=\"3545\" height=\"2480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mikeeasley.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/20190303_150803.jpg 3545w, https:\/\/mikeeasley.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/20190303_150803-300x210.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mikeeasley.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/20190303_150803-768x537.jpg 768w, https:\/\/mikeeasley.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/20190303_150803-1024x716.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 3545px) 100vw, 3545px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>My breakfast is indistinguishable from a Full English, although it&#8217;s none the worse for that. Val&#8217;s Sloppy Joe originated in the USA, according to Google.<\/p>\n<p>So all in all there&#8217;s just a thin veneer of Irishness here, but we love the place nonetheless.
