It’s possible to walk all the way around lake Thun, a distance of some 80 kilometres. We’re doing it bit by bit, and today we’re on the north shore. We start high above the water at Beatushölen.

Lovely views towards Interlaken.

We pass through a small hamlet called Sundlauenen, and eat our sandwiches at the steamer quay.

A weather stone.

Translation: is the stone warm… it is sunny.
Is the stone wet… it’s raining.
Is the stone white… it’s snowing.
Is the stone swinging… it’s windy.
Is the stone hopping… earthquake.
Is the stone missing… tornado!
We pass by a campsite called Manor Farm.

Manor Farm is where I camped in June 1978. 4 of us were on a touring holiday. I was 19 years old, and it’s quite possible that if we hadn’t visited Interlaken, all of this Swiss stuff would never have happened.
