Day 3 of recuperation from my eye op, and we can have a trip out today. We’re off to Grindelwald. For the past two months the village has been almost permanently in the shade, but in early February the sun gets high enough to warm things up a little.

I need a new jacket. Nothing special, just for wearing to the pub. I found one that would have been just the job, except that the colours were deadly dull. I bet the manufacturer makes the same thing in brighter hues. I’ll check later and see whether I can track one down.
The old railway line from Lauterbrunnen used to run by the side of our house. These days nothing but the trackbed remains, but intrepid skiers can use it to climb up to the village on touring skis (touring skis can go uphill as well as down). As luck would have it, our old mate Roger came past this afternoon.

My days are dominated by eye-drops. I have to administer a total of 12 every day, and there are 3 different types. It’s a struggle to fit them all in if we spend a lot of time away from the house, but I’m sure I can squeeze them in around a trip to the pub later.
