Val was off down to Interlaken this afternoon for another appointment at the eye clinic. Her trip home did not go well. The train broke down at Matten. The poor holidaymakers had to drag their luggage across the tracks to wait for a replacement train.

While all this was going on I was relaxing at home. I have some birthday cards.

Val eventually got home, and we headed for Rocks. After a few drinks we walked down to the Eiger restaurant for dinner.

We had chateaubriand, which is fillet of beef served with vegetables, croquette potatoes and some lovely sauces. It doesn’t look much on the photo, but as soon as you’ve finished they bring you another plateful. We finished off the night with cocktails back in Rocks.
