It’s the big day at last, and we’re up early for the Crab Festival. Opening the event is celebrity chef and national treasure Mary Berry. She was brought up in Salcombe.

Lots of crabby stuff, also Salcombe beer.

Local chefs doing demonstrations, hoping to be the next star of Saturday Kitchen no doubt. The guy on the right cooked our dinner at the Fortescue last night.

Salcombe will soon have its own gin distillery. Here’s one in miniature.

A couple of the local fishing boats pulled up on Victoria quay. Lots to see.

This being Salcombe, there was no free crab; but it was very busy, so fingers crossed this will become an annual event.
