Our plan for today was simple enough. An early lunch and down to the valley for a run, then back home to see the Formula One, dinner, then Rocks to see the end of the golf. Everything started well, and it was a beautiful afternoon.

Val hiked along the river where it was a little cooler.

We got back to the station to catch the train back up to the village, and, no train. We learned from the staff that there had been a landslide over the line, and that there would be no more trains to Wengen today.
We got home by getting the train to Grindelwald, and then the gondola up to Männlichen and the cable car down to the village. What should have been a 12 minute train ride took well over an hour.
Later on, a photo of the damage was circulating in the village.

Fortunately there was no train passing when the landslide hit the track, and we were home in time to see Lewis Hamilton win the British Grand Prix.
