Lakeside lunch

It’s another hot, sunny day. We make our sandwiches and head for the lake at Bönigen. Here comes the paddle steamer ‘Lötschberg’. It was built in 1914 and can carry 800 passengers.

A short distance away is the lido. The Swiss kids are on holiday at the moment, so it’s very busy and very noisy.

Water exits the lake via the river Aare, which runs through Interlaken. The lake is still high after last week’s floods, so the water in the Aare is choppy and very fast.

We got some shopping at Interlaken before catching the train back to Wengen.
