Cloudy and very mild this morning. Nevertheless we thought we’d go up the hill to take a look. You can tell when it’s a poor day for skiing – you can’t get a seat at the Edelweiss bar at Männlichen. Sure enough it was really busy, but we squeezed in and had coffee. Outside the wind began to pick up, which usually means that the weather is going to change.
After coffee and a bit of banter with the others around the bar we set off for Scheidegg. So did everyone else.
The skiing wasn’t up to much so we returned to the village. We ran into Heidelberg Mike who hadn’t even bothered going up. His plan for the day involved little more than drinking beer on the Eiger terrace, and I think he’d made the right decision. Around 2pm the clouds started rolling in, and at last the temperature has begun to fall.
