Beautiful sunny day today. We got up early and headed up to Scheidegg. Everyone skiing very well.

Very warm today, with wall to wall sunshine.
We got the train up to Scheidegg and skied around, then went to Brandegg for lunch, and pottered back to the village for beers at the Figeller bar on the nursery slope.

The warm weather gave rise to an avalanche this afternoon.
Paul and Hayley arrived last night, so up the hill we went today accompanied by Ozzy. Paul hasn’t skied for many years, but skills that you learn at a young age never leave you.
Hayley just skied like a champ, as always.
We all skied round to Scheidegg this afternoon, and a good time was had by all.
Every January Grindelwald hosts the Snow Festival. Lots of stuff happens through the week, but the highlight is the snow sculpture competition. Teams from all over the world are given a few cubic metres of snow, and told to get on with it. Here’s the British entry.
It was quite mild today, and while I was snapping the British sculpture, the very elaborate French entry next door collapsed before my eyes. I hope the judges had already seen it. Swiss sculpture.
