Cats, dogs, and probably stair rods too

We went to the cinema last night to see Star Wars. It’s the second time it’s been shown here,  but we went a bit early as I thought we might struggle to get a seat for the film . I couldn’t have been more wrong.

Eventually a few more people arrived,  there were probably about 20 of us, and we knew just about everyone.
Anyhow the film was very good, and afterwards we popped in at the Pickel Bar for a late beer.
We walked home in the rain that had started while we were watching the movie, and this morning it was still falling. It’s still raining now as darkness begins to fall. If someone could invent a new sport that requires heavy rain for enjoyment it would prove very popular in the Bernese Oberland at the moment.

Rain on the way

Hayley & Paul went home this morning, we travelled down to Interlaken with them and then got some shopping. Thanks for being great company as ever chaps, and for our lovely dinner last night.

Looks like rain tonight. Everyone’s hoping it will be cold enough for snow, but sadly I don’t think so.

Murren

After all the excitement of curling last night we thought we’d pop over to Murren today. Here’s Hayley & Val contemplating their plan of attack down a steep face on the way down.

And cruising having dealt with it.

Back to Wengen and a few beers before dinner.

Weather’s still mild and dry.

Spring weather

Very warm today, with wall to wall sunshine.

We got the train up to Scheidegg and skied around,  then went to Brandegg for lunch, and pottered back to the village for beers at the Figeller bar on the nursery slope.

The warm weather gave rise to an avalanche this afternoon.
