Snow

It was snowing hard when Val left for work this morning. Eased off in the middle of the day then the snow returned with strong wind this afternoon. I got this shot out of our bedroom window of a couple of hardy souls trying to get home.

Val is curling with her colleagues from Ski School later. There’s usually a bit of a party afterwards.

Let’s go Dutch

School holidays in Holland this week, and I think the whole country has come to Wengen. This is easily the busiest week of the year. Popped up to Scheidegg to meet Val after her lesson and the place was heaving.

We had a good night in Rocks yesterday evening. Here we are sharing our 1st prize with quiz organisers Ali and Barbara, and barmaid and unofficial 4th team member Aneta.

That photo was taken by a certain Michael Cowen, who then proceeded to wander round the bar taking photos of everyone else. Here are a couple.

And of course a selfie.

Just a standard Sunday night in Rocks really.

Sunny Sunday

Val was off up to Scheidegg early this morning to start her lessons for this week. Later we had a wander around and tracked down the apartment that Paul and Hayley have rented for their visit. It looks great.

And the views are stunning.

It’s a lovely afternoon, warm enough for our first ice cream of the season.

Quiz tonight, wish us luck.

Happy birthday

To me! Last night we went for our barbecue in the little grill hut. It’s a really nice place.

Cosy inside, you even get your own chef for the evening.

The food was really good and the girls could make as much noise as they liked!

No skiing today as it’s Val’s day off. Got up late and opened my cards.

Tonight we’re off to Interlaken for a curry.

Snow

It started snowing at daybreak and continued all day. Great skiing but zero visibility. Val’s customer has cancelled her lesson owing to the weather. Thankfully Val still gets paid.

This little hut is in the garden of the Sunstar. Inside is a fire pit so we’ll have a barbecue tonight.
