Well, strictly speaking the last walk back from Sina’s pub to Rocks. Lovely evening with Ally & Colin.

More skis
Yesterday Val took a pair of skis up to Scheidegg and gave them a good workout on Arven and Salzegg. Looking down the steep pitch on Arven – it was a bit gloomy.
They seemed fine, so here they are alongside Hayley’s before being consigned to our locker for the summer.
Last night we went down to the Three Tells in Matten for fish and chips.
Today has been spent packing and later we’ll go for mountain burgers at the pub. Back to the UK for a while tomorrow.
Skiing
Good impromptu party in Rocks last night while we were watching the golf. This morning dawned bright and sunny so up we went to Scheidegg. On the way up we ran into Colin and Ally so we all had a ski together on the north facing slopes below Eigergletcher – great fun. Here’s the view from the Eigernordwand chairlift.
Sat in the sun waiting for the train watching the guys who usually serve us our lunch dismantling their outdoor kitchens.
This afternoon we popped into Central Sport to sort some skis out for Val to test tomorrow. Ended up buying a pair for Hayley too – skis are really cheap at this time of year.

Interlaken
It’s the big Snowpen Air concert up at Scheidegg today. Thousands of people have to get up there on the train, so it seems a good idea to head off in the opposite direction. Here’s what it looks like (pic from local paper).
Down in Interlaken temperatures are high and it feels like summer.
This lovely corner is part of the Co-op complex at Unterseen.
Later we caught the bus to the Three Tells pub at Matten and had a lovely lunch.
Mountain changing colour
It’s another nice day so we hop on the train and have a ski at Scheidegg. The snow was a bit sticky up high but better lower down where it doesn’t get quite so much sun.
A few big groups of kids about, but in the main it’s very quiet.
As you can see from the pictures, most of the mountain has changed from white to green.
Walk to Wilderswil
It’s a nice day so we have a walk down the valley to the village of Wilderswil. To begin with the valley floor is narrow. There’s barely room for the river, the path, the road and the railway line.
After a while the valley gets a bit wider. A lot of work has been done to make the path more accessible.
Here’s a map of the valley showing our route. We started at Lauterbrunnen.
Refilling our bottles at Zweilütchinen.
Towards Wilderswil the valley gets quite wide.
At Wilderswil we get ice creams from the little shop, and the train whisks us back up the valley.
