Funny weather – mild and damp in the village with clouds and snow up at the top. We had a good day out nonetheless.
Rainbow over the village.
Beers before curling.
And our curlers after the game.
Lovely dinner at chez Barr last night.
Another sunny day today. We started at Männlichen and worked our way round to Scheidegg, then did a circuit around Lauberhorn, Fallboden, Salzegg and Arven. Cruised home and had a beer in the sunshine.
I popped to the ice rink to book us in for curling later on, wow it’s busy!
Duo Centrale tonight at the Sunstar.
Great party for Angela’s birthday last night. Here she is grabbing a selfie with the band.
We’re right in the middle of the European school holidays. The Junfraubahn need to use every bit of rolling stock they have to meet the demand. Today we get a ride on one of the oldest trains. Not been on one of these for years.
Raining when I woke up, but it quickly turned to snow. By the time Val came home from work it was very heavy.
I’ve cleaned the flat from top to bottom. Val’s just off downstairs to Angela’s for a girly half-hour, then we’ll all be off to Rocks for Angela’s birthday party. Uptown Lights are playing tonight so it should be excellent.
Val had the afternoon off so we popped over to Grindelwald. Grabbed a beer and headed for the Indian restaurant.

We had a good meal – chicken pakoras followed by lamb biryani and chicken madras. Did a couple more bars on the way back to the station and ran into some of Val’s ski school buddies. Good night out.
Every year in February the Tourist Office organise a big curling tournament. It’s called the Dolly Cup. Anyone can enter – you need a team of four. Val’s ski school colleagues have entered a team, here they are playing the Rocks Bar team which is Angela, Colin, Terry and Julie. Result: 12-4 to Altitude Ski School. After the game it’s traditional for the winners to take their opponents for a drink.
Very busy on the Lauberhorn today, but beautiful weather.
Here’s Val bringing her kids back to Scheidegg at the end of their lesson.
