Yesterday’s snow continued all night. It finally stopped just after lunch. We have to go down to Lauterbrunnen to make arrangements for our next furniture delivery. Avalanche beacon flashing away on the ski lift guide.

A major clear-up is underway outside the cargo building at Lauterbrunnen. Val pays the princely sum of 8 francs and the guy in the office makes the arrangements to have our furniture sent up later in the week when it arrives from Germany.

We enjoyed the cinema last night (Star Wars) and today we’re off to Mürren across the valley. The weather is overcast so the usually stunning views are sadly absent.

We caught the little train to Winteregg and had lunch. When we came out to catch the train back to Wengen it started snowing. 

Quiz tonight, wonder how many people will brave the weather.

3 arrivals today. First was our new sofa bed for the lounge. It was delivered to the station in Lauterbrunnen, came up on the goods train and we picked it up from the station in a taxi.

Next arrival was Jim. He’s got the best room in the house at the Bernerhof.

And finally the latest Star Wars film has made it to Wengen. We’ll be off to see it tonight, along with everyone else.

Outside it’s cold and trying to snow, there’s quite a lot forecast over the next few days.

It’s a nice day today, so we go up earlier than usual, have coffee and cover some ground around Scheidegg. Things look good from the Lauberhorn, but if you look at the top right of the picture you can see clouds beginning to spill over from the south. This almost always means that we’ll get a storm later in the day.

Val has gone to the hairdresser so I’ll do rubbish and recycling (and maybe pop into Rocks on the way home). Sina’s for dinner tonight.

… the rain stopped this morning and by lunchtime the sun looked like making an appearance. Everyone in the village headed up the hill. Up at the top the visibility was a bit varied owing to clouds that came up from the valley. 

The skiing was very like we usually get in spring – soft snow and a bit lumpy. The silly fat skis that we use nowadays help a lot on days like this. Back in the village we have an internet crisis going on as Swisscom seem to have broken something today.
