Turbulent weather today, no trains up the mountain and no ski lifts open. It was mild and blowing a gale when we woke up. Just after lunch it started to snow. And it snowed and snowed.
The banner advertising next week’s race did not survive.
Keeping the main street passable.
All our balcony furniture has blown to one end, and I had to retrieve the barbecue cover from the garden below.
If anything the forecast for tomorrow is worse.
It’s a gloomy day with unbroken high clouds. Cold too. Work is underway preparing the village for the International Lauberhorn races which begin on the 12th of this month. Here is the start of the world cup slalom course. It has a nice view back to Wengen.
Back in the village the soldiers have started work. They must lay a temporary floor on the natural ice rink. It’s hard work with all the snow we’ve had lately.
Later we’ll be off to the Sunstar for some music.
