The snow continued all night and all day today. There’s not much to do apart from domestic stuff. We popped out for a drink last night with Colin, Ali and Claire. Giggly girls on the way home.

It snowed last night, and today was grey and cold. We popped down to Interlaken to see the turning on of the lights in the big square by the station. There was a band of drummers, some children singing, and the dignitaries arrived by horse and carriage. Quaint though this was, the darkness meant it was impossible to get any photos.
After the obligatory speeches there was a countdown and finally the lights were on. Very nice too.

We arrived back here yesterday afternoon, sorted out our stuff and headed for Rocks. We had a splendid supper with the pork pies that we brought from Shifnal, as well as boiled ham (Colin), cheese and onion on sticks (Rachel & Bob) and Ali made muffins. Akim provided the music. Outside in the street are dozens of Christmas trees.

This morning we stocked up on a few essentials from the Co-op and headed down to the valley for a walk. It’s chilly and dark down here but after sitting on the train all day yesterday we’re glad of the exercise.

There was a big rockfall just outside Lauterbrunnen last month. Lots of debris.

Back in Wengen the weather is changing, and it looks like we’ll have snow tonight.
