Return of the sun

We had a little more snow overnight, but by morning the weather had cleared up and it’s been a beautiful day.

Val was away early to work, while I attended to the domestics. It’s nice to see the village looking so good as we begin the busy holiday period. Good skiing all the way back to Wengen now.

Steve Donnelly is playing at Rocks later, so we’ll go and have a sing-song.

Ice cream weather

It’s another nice day, so we went up early to enjoy the sunshine. Lauberhorn is the first part of the area to get the sun in the morning, so it was busy.

We made our way up to Eigergletscher for a lovely but decidedly unhealthy lunch of loaded fries. Later on, on the Eiger Express lift, we got an entire 24 seat gondola all to ourselves.

We made our way home, and treated ourselves to our first ice cream of the season.

Music

We had a good night out at the Alpine Hotel yesterday evening. Here’s Colin and his mate Nev.

No skiing today, as Val has her German class and I need to do some shopping. We were treated to another concert as we passed the Hotel Victoria Lauberhorn this afternoon.

All the weather forecasts said it was going to snow today. It turned out we had almost unbroken sunshine.

Early start

The weather is due to change for the worse today, so we had an early start. Very nice skiing around Scheidegg before the masses arrived from the valley.

We paused for coffee before heading back to the village as the weather rolled in. At sunset the clouds gave us quite a display.

Colin is playing at the Alpine Hotel this evening, and tonight he’ll be joined by his mate Neville on the violin.

Sunshine!

It’s a lovely day – cold, and not a cloud in the sky. We’re off up to Scheidegg. At the top of the Lauberhorn.

Have you ever met anyone from Uraguay? No, me neither, until today anyway, when I met Macca who is working at the Eigernordwand restaurant, and Nico, who is working for Val’s ski school.

It was a good fun day up the hill, with lovely snow. It seemed like every five minutes we bumped into someone we knew. Top stuff.
