Yesterday marked the official opening of the winter season in Wengen. It’s a bit like a mini Christmas market with lots of food stalls etc.
Brass band on the hubel.

Lots of people about.

Nice atmosphere as darkness descends.

Later on we went to Wengen’s little cinema. This is where the Swiss abandon their traditional reserve a little. Amusing bits of the film will be greeted by loud guffaws, while suspense brings sharp intakes of breath. It’s like stand-up comedy and panto all rolled into one. You get used to it after a while.
Glorious sunshine again today, off for a walk down to the little hamlet of Wengwald.

It’s so warm the flowers are beginning to make an appearance.

The train emerges from the tunnel to whisk us back up to Wengen.
