Mürren

It’s time to start week 8 of my running programme, but it’s really hot so my usual route down in the valley would be very uncomfortable. We head over to Mürren where it’ll be a bit cooler up at 5300 feet. The path from the village to Winteregg looks good, but it’s not quite far enough so I do my warm-up walk in the opposite direction to add some distance. It still wasn’t far enough, so I ended up running past Winteregg and on towards Grütschalp. We’d planned to have lunch at Winteregg, but hey ho.

It was a good run and I even devised a strategy for getting the walking tours to move aside – clapping loudly seems to get their attention. Fortunately the hot spell is forecast to come to an end over the next 24 hours which will mean I can return to running in the valley.
