I did most of my running programme down in the valley between Lauterbrunnen and Stechelberg. I know every inch of the path. Shortly before we returned to the UK in August I ran the entire length of the valley for my first 5 kilometre run.
While we were in the UK I did another programme which got me up to 10 kilometres. It follows therefore that I ought to try running up the valley and back in one go. Val, Jennifer and Rich got the bus along to Stechelberg, and I started running. They’re going to walk back to Lauterbrunnen. I intercepted them just after Schilthornbahn. Val got a nice pic of me coming up the hill.

Not long afterwards my watch told me it was time to turn around and I headed back towards Lauterbrunnen. It turned out to be a really good run. At the end I jumped on the scales at the campsite. I’ve lost another 4 and a half kilos, and according to the Body Mass Index calculation I am now of ‘normal weight’. Hooray!

I treated myself to a fizzy drink at the Horner pub while I waited for the others, and we had a nice lunch at the Airtime cafe.
