It’s sunny today, so we’re off up to Kleine Scheidegg. There’s no skiing just yet, so we take the snow shoes.
It’s cold, but it’s lovely to be up in the mountains. Snow cannons are going like crazy.
After our hike we caught the train back down and had a few beers in the Waldschuecht before dinner.
Emily did the cooking last night.
She made a lovely risotto and served it with a sliced loin of pork.
The snow stopped overnight, but we thought there might be enough to try our show shoes. We started on the nursery slope.
Fortunately, snow shoeing turns out to be pretty easy to do and good fun. We soon got the hang of it.
If the weather stays good we’ll take the snow shoes up the mountain tomorrow.
Winter has arrived. It started snowing at breakfast time and hasn’t stopped since. Val had to go to Brienz by the lake – it even snowed down there.

Emily is cooking tonight, which is always something to look forward to.
