Recycling

Our flat is coming along nicely. Today we have heard of some dining chairs that are going begging. We pop down the hill and pick them up.

It hasn’t snowed for ages, but there are huge piles of man-made stuff on the nursery slope.

Our neighbours have a cat. This creates a challenge as we live on the first floor. They have built a ladder so the cat can get in and out via the balcony.

Back in Wengen

We arrived last night and moved into our new flat. It’s very nearly finished and everything is new and very nice. Splendid new kitchen.

Had a potter about today changing a few things around to make as much space as we could. Glorious weather,  snow cannons have been working but it’s not really cold enough yet.

Not many bars open at the moment, but Rocks is open for the weekend so we popped in. Most of the usual crowd are here already.

Stechelberg

It snowed while we were in the pub last night. Wintry scene this morning.

At the end of our valley is a tiny village called Stechelberg. The road ends there so if you want to go any further you’re going to have to walk. The snow has limited our options for walking so Stechelberg seems a good bet.

Every so often we get a glimpse of one of the peaks.

There are dairy farms along the valley. Most of them offer produce to walkers from little stalls like this. They are never manned – you just leave the money in the box.

Eventually we arrive back at Lauterbrunnen and the Staubach Fall.
