Good party in Rocks last night.

Absolutely packed, couldn’t have got another person in.
We use our balcony as a fridge, but it’s so warm it doesn’t really work any more.
The high winds are gone and we’re back to dry and unseasonably mild weather. We catch the train up to Allmend and walk back down through the meadows. This is the top of the World Cup slalom course, with masses of man-made snow.
The sign is warning of avalanche danger, but it’s pretty safe at the moment.
Down in the village the artificial snow has been used to make a small slope for the tiny tots. It’s not much but it’s all they need for their first few lessons.
Looking forward to a good night in Rocks later with Steve and Colin playing.
Went to the cinema last night to see Bridget Jones – not bad but they’ll never match the original.
It snowed a bit last night, and today it’s been windy so no trains up the mountain and no ski lifts at all.
When the weather’s bad the birds come down the mountain in search of food. This one is stealing Rudi’s food. (Rudi is next-door’s cat).
Village Opening marks the official start of the winter season here in Wengen. The shops set up stalls and we cruise around town eating mince pies and cheese, and drinking gluwein and Irish coffee. It’s a bit quiet this year as most of the hotels don’t open until next weekend.
Still no sign of snow, but it is getting colder.
