It snowed all night, and this morning the council had to dig the village out.

There’s 18 inches of new snow on the race course. The racers reach speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour, and they need a hard, icy surface. It’s just not safe with so much soft snow, so regrettably the race is cancelled. 

No race doesn’t mean no party, so the festivities start early. These girls are part of a huge brass band.
