National Treasure

It’s fair to say that we don’t get a lot of celebrities in Wengen. This may be down to the fact that you can’t arrive in your Mercedes Benz, or perhaps it’s because the height of evening sophistication is a boozy sing-along with Duo Centrale. So it comes as a surprise to spot Mary Berry arriving at the station.  Here she is with Katie.

Of course Mary has featured in this blog in the past when she opened the Salcombe Crab Fest.

We do our recycling and amble down towards Wengwald. It’s still very mild and there are snowdrops in abundance on south-facing slopes.

Wengwald must be the smallest railway station in Switzerland, but there are still plenty of passengers waiting to be picked up for the ride down to Lauterbrunnen.
